PROFILE:

Purchasing (or Materials) Management is probably a surprise heading, but we believe that this is a greatly underrated area with good sound Purchasing Strategy immediately putting Pounds/Dollars/Euros on the bottom line.

Typical areas of savings are due to the creation of a Sourcing Strategy (saves 5 - 7% of spend over a period of 24 months) and the introduction of e-Procurement (saves 50 - 60% of Purchasing process cost over a similar period)

It is our opinion that managing Suppliers within a partnership approach is essential for any company with a long term view of business.

ACHIEVEMENTS

	Established professional Purchasing Department; Introduced, implemented and managed appropriate computerised systems and by effective negotiation made substantial contributions to the effective spend.
	Successful development of Europe-wide computer purchasing and leasing strategies.
	Identified the scope of car leasing within Europe. Implemented a pan-European car leasing programme involving some 2400 cars, subsequently appointed Chairman of the European car leasing group.
	Reorganised procedures and documentation in view of TQM initiative, allowing subsequent qualification for BS5750.
	Introduced and implemented the concept of online reverse auctions, for appropriate bulk purchasing schemes.
